Blogging is essentially anecdotal. I'm not an economist but this recession has changed my neighborhood. The photos attached are some of the empty storefronts along Ditmars Blvd. here in Astoria, Queens.

To be sure the area is still vibrant economically and culturally. But "the great recession" has taken it's toll on the streets where I live.
